Megan Sugden Photography was established in 2005, but my interest in taking pictures started years before at the age of sixteen when I received my very first film camera. Once it was in my hands, it never left! I have always loved taking pictures, and I still remember the good ol’ days of sending film off in the mail and waiting for the prints to return. Eventually I started developing my own negatives, spending countless hours in the darkroom and printing my own photos.  

I spent my college years studying photojournalism and graphic design at Minnesota State University Moorhead, soaking up everything I possibly could about photography. I also spent a year at Northern Arizona University, learning from amazing professors and furthering my education with advanced classes and access to the latest equipment.

I graduated from MSUM in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Mass Comm with a minor in Photojournalism. I switched from film to my first digital SLR, worked in freelance for a year, and officially launched Megan Sugden Photography in 2005. By the summer of 2007, I was able to resign from my day job and focus on my photography full time and I've been doing it ever since… which, for me, was a dream come true! 

I also teach photography classes and run several other photography brands including Kittson County Skies and I even created a course how to take photographs with your iPhone called the iPhone Crash Course! I am proud to offer my clients years of experience and education, photographing hundreds of weddings and thousands of portrait sessions over the years--and I can't wait to photograph YOUR wedding day!
